This iconic brand is Germany's best known fizzy soda powder (Brausepulver) delighting kids of many generations.
The powder comes in four flavors: orange, lemon, woodruff (Waldmeister) and raspberry. You can pour the powder into water to make a fizzy refreshment drink, or simply put some into the palm of your hand, lick it and you'll get an immediate tickling sensation on the tip of your tongue.
Tip: The famous German novel "Die Blechtrommel" (The Tin Drum) - and the 1979 Oscar-winning movie of the same name - contains a famous scene with Brausepulver.
When I was a child I had this all the time. It was a staple in our house. When I had my own kids I always had Ahoi brause for them too. Now living in the US my children di not have it for a few years and when I showed them they both remembered having it when they have been little. It is pretty much just sugar with taste but we love it and all the different colors all taste different. We will order again.
