I ordered this coffee for my two aunts and German uncle for the holiday season, and I have had my eye on it for several years. I noticed it has an in-between size bag but averages out to be about as much as Starbucks. I have yet to try it.
Great price--note that this package is over 1 lb. Any Starbucks coffee will cost the same for half the quantity. Dallmayr is a famous century-old delicatessen in Munich, and I suspect this same product is twice the cost on the shelf in their retail store in downtown Munich. I don't know how they price it so low for the US market. This is relatively mild coffee, so if you like dark, highly roasted coffee like Starbucks, this may not be dark enough for you. I use this with Melitta drip filters. I typically buy it ground, but have also bought it as whole bean. Our family has been drinking this for decades, and I order 10 or a dozen units at a time. I alternate with other coffees, but this is my long-term standby coffee. These also make great gifts because they're shelf-stable, they travel well in the rectangular vacuum packs (the packaging is robust and keeps the coffee fresh), and they they look sharp as gifts.
