Weiss Magenbrot is a soft, spiced, brown gingerbread, baked with a Christmas spice mix and cocoa glaze, according to a traditional recipe.

These Swiss-German specialty cookies contain spices such as cloves and  anise that purportedly are good for digestion and friendly to your stomach ("Magen"). 

Today, these cookies are served at all popular festivals and many Christmas Markets.
